Moodboard
The images above of the 2 men in the top right hand corner represent the fearlessness of what we wanted Ethan and the two Turkish thugs to have when confronted. We wanted both Turkish thugs to be dressed very smart and classy, they are suppose to look like they have money and they're well respected In their line of work. The choice of gun is purely to show they carry the handheld around with them all places because they never know when their business will come back to bite them in the backside. The scenery images show where we filmed and the image on the bottom left hand corner was our inspiration for the alleyway scene, we wanted a dark alleyway which was deserted to create the fear that something bad is going to happen.
Film Title Font Ideas
The image above shows the ideas i came up with, with the help of my fellow group members on how we should end the opening film. I thought it would make more of an effect to the audience if the writing was bold and had inspirational writing e.g Focus, Inspire and Succeed; these words will help encourage people to have self belief and know that if push comes to shove, they have the power inside them to fight back. This all goes well with out storyline for our short film opening because Ethan Steal, 1 man, takes on 2 men with a gun, Ethan has belief in himself that he could rescue his girlfriend and get her out of harms way. As a group we all decided to make Ethan the title, however having the title Ethan Steal was a creative idea that Ethan will initially "Steal" his girlfriend back.

- Ethan Steal
- Operation: Steal
- Case: Steal
- I Steal, You Stole

All the images above were taken after we filmed our opening film, we were dubbing the characters speaking, making sure the sound quality of the scenes were professional and the characters could be heard amongst the background noise. The cast had to take a few tries at dubbing their voices into the scenes because they were too close to the mic or their quality of speaking was not acceptable, meaning they were not speaking clearly so the sound quality could sound professional.
Editing Evidence
I had no part in editing our product but i contributed a load of ideas of how i would like the title to be shown because i feel the title should be edited to the best of its potential; The opening scene needs to be intriguing and capture the audience straight away and then throughout the film in order to be successful, in order to be successful with action films the editing style needs to be realistic and have explosions (like fast & furious).
I was the producer of our project, so I supervised what was going on within my group; from filming our scenes, if Treney produced the right sound of music for our genre, and which title we should have and what company we should work with to produce our project if it were a film.

Music Editing
Although the music editing was up to Treney to make, we all as a group decided which genre of music we should play throughout so that it relates to the genre of the film and what is going on during each scene. We decided to go with action music, to get the adrenaline pumping when the two Turkish thugs take Melina and Ethan comes to her rescue. The music was edited after we recorded the film opening because then Treney would be able to create music that flows with the scenes.
I decided that fast action sound like music would be great for our film opening because our genre is action. in order to try come up with the best possible music i watched Taken 1 and 2, the soundtrack varies from soft peaceful music to fast hard music, these were used in the right way; the fast hard music was used when he fight scenes were happening and the soft peaceful music was played during the sad/happy moments during the film and this is what i wanted to create within my own music.

Storyboard
As you can see by the slideshow above the storyboard is quite straight forward. As a group we found a great location to film in which was just near Broadway and Cambridge Heath Road. We set our minds on starting from the alleyway, however i felt that jumped straight into the drama so i decided to add my own beginning into the short film; I decided it would be best if Melisa could be walking through Broadway market which is busy and then down the canal towards the alleyway, this way it felt more realistic.
In the storyboard it shows the camera zoom into one of the Turkish thugs hanging up the phone on Ethan Steal, which we used in the actual filming because it was a dramatic clip which worked well.
Originally we wanted to have a car so we could have the two Turkish thugs stop jump out and grab Melisa and take her to an abandoned warehouse but we could not find any warehouses which we could use in such short notice and we also could not use a car so we opted with our storyboard which is shown above.

These images show the cast and crew filming our film opening, Throughout every scene being filmed one of us from the cast snapped a few photos of each cast member doing their jobs. For example, one image shows me filming in Broadway market, filming Melisa walk along the pavement swamped with people walking past her whilst she walked around the corner along the canal. We have images of Mark filming on top of a huge wall so that he could capture melisa walking along the alleyway from a crane shot. We have Amid filming Aubrey, this was not used in the final draft because we felt we did not need to have Aubrey making his way to find Melisa. As you can see we used a tripod to keep a steady picture, we even used a skateboard as a sliding track so that we could follow Melisa walking towards us without making our movements cause the picture to look unprofessional.
My opinion on our film opening, is that it looks very professional - excellent for our first project. I feel that the editing was by far extremely amazing, and the music genre goes perfectly well with our film genre and is played during the right parts in the scenes. The only downside to our project is the acting, i felt it was not realistic, the two thugs kidnapping Melisa, they did not seem as though they were in control or seem like they were tough/intimidating; and Melisa did not show enough emotion, like when she was held at gunpoint, she had a slight smile plastered on her face. Overall, i feel the plot to our project was scripted very well and we worked our equipment and camera techniques to our ability to create a professional looking piece of project.
After Effects Creations
The software used to edit our titles is called After Effects. The screenshots above show our editor, Amid, editing our titles. This was very time consuming for Amid as it would have a huge impact on how our product would be portrayed as an action film.
